News and Market Whitepaper Understanding German Fire Safety In collaboration with industry expert Karl-Olaf Kaiser, FeuerTRUTZ Network published the comprehensive whitepaper „GERMAN FIRE SAFETY RULES AND REGULATIONS“. It informs you about the structure of the fire protection market in Germany and includes the following chapters: Germany (general information) Building law Parties involved in construction Planning and approval Construction phase Acceptance Construction products Institutions and organizations Readers will for example learn about the role of state-approved fire prevention experts in Germany. These persons must generally have a university degree (e.g. architecture, civil engineering or fire prevention), specific sufficient professional experience (usually at least five years) and special qualification evidence. This must be verified by the respective publically approved bodies such as e.g. chambers of architects, engineers, building or trade and commerce in special oral and written exams. Just like the expert inspectors/ engineers, the state-approved fire prevention experts are then included into special lists. Unlike with expert inspectors, these lists are not published by the highest building authorities of the states but by the respective responsible state chambers. Because there have not been identical education stipulations for specialised planners and experts in fire prevention for a long time, there is “Babylonian mix up of titles” in Germany in that respect. Next to the above Events for Preventive Fire Protection Professionals The whitepaper GERMAN FIRE SAFETY RULES AND REGULATIONS can be downlaoded at www.feuertrutz.com named state-approved persons, there are also specialised planners, experts and surveyors for fire prevention etc. in Germany. These persons are, however, not (necessarily) state-approved and will thus not be included in the special and publically available lists of the building supervisory authorities (or the respective responsible chambers of the federal states). In the best case, these persons have had qualified instruction by private approved educational must then include the respective Institute for Fire Prevention Deutsches Institut für vorbeugenden (DIvB e.V.) www.divb.org has developed a guideline for the qualified instruction of specialist planners and experts in cooperation with different organisations and educational providers.
